When should I use Ceramol products?
Ceramol products are aimed at restoring the epidermal barrier. Our dermatologists have created an entire range of Ceramol products in order to provide active protection for sensitive, delicate, reactive, intolerant and allergic skin.
How do Ceramol products help to protect the skin?
Ceramol products contain ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids, ingredients that are key to the constitution and protection of the epidermal barrier – the outermost layer of our skin that separates and protects it from the external environment. These ingredients help build up and strengthen its defences.
What happens when the skin barrier is altered?
The outer layers of the skin act as a protective barrier, regulating and protecting exchanges between the inside and outside. When these layers are damaged, the skin loses water and becomes dehydrated, dry, hard and irritated. At the same time, it absorbs numerous harmful substances (allergens and irritants).
When is this epidermal barrier weakened?
When, for example, it does not have the essential lipids that it needs: ceramides (especially in children with atopy), cholesterol (especially in the elderly) and fatty acids. The skin barrier can also be weakened due to intense or continued exposure to aggressive elements or environmental conditions (washing powders, cleansers, solvents, water, cold, wind, pollution).
Why are Ceramol products suitable for allergic and more sensitive skin (that of children or the elderly)?
Because they contain a reduced, selected number of ingredients, and no substances which could aggravate allergic and sensitive skin, such as nickel, preservatives, fragrances, colorants, etc.
Can I use Ceramol products instead of regular medication?
Ceramol products are not drugs. They can be used on their own or associated with other dermatological treatments. Your doctor or pharmacist can advise you how to use and combine these products.
Can children use Ceramol products?
Our entire range can be used on children. We believe a good product should be safe and effective for the whole family.
What is INCI?
INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) is the recognised identification of ingredients used in a cosmetic product. These ingredients are listed in order of concentration from the highest, down to 1% in weight. Ingredients making up less than 1% are not listed in any specific order.
Why is “free of” better for you skin?
Because when products do not contain certain substances like heavy metals, preservatives or fragrances – ingredients that sensitize skin that suffers from dermatological conditions or that is particularly sensitive-, they are safer.
